Gilska has shared new single ‘Up Till 5’.

The London born artist grew up absorbing aspects of club culture, infusing her work with house abandon, and the subtle engineering of Millennial R&B. Yet she’s also keenly in touch with her Sri Lankan heritage, a relationship that adds enormous breadth to Gilska’s work.

New single ‘Up Till 5’ toys with the balance here, matching a fantastic vocal to exquisite electronic production. The rolling beats are aligned to subtle use of sonic layers, allowing Gilska to platform a dynamic approach to pop songwriting.

‘Up Till 5’ is about mistakes and regrets, and learning to move beyond that temporary high; yet it also embraces the moments, and learns to roll with its errors.

London-born, Sri Lankan-origin Gilska

She comments…

“It’s almost like being stuck in a loophole of ending up in the club night after night not knowing why. Having a slight addiction to partying to get that dopamine rush to feel something, but slowly realising night after night it’s not working. How the lights, the drinks, and even the music sucks you in and you always end up feeling that same numbness after a temporary high but you keep on dancing anyway.”

Tune in now.
