Gia Lily returns with new single ‘I’d Do It For You’.
The alt-pop riser has shared a flurry of excellent releases, all while developing a potent live show. Supporting the likes of Naomi Jon, Billy Lockett, SIIGHTS and more, Gia recently played a packed out headline show at intimate London venue the Grace.
Out now, new single ‘I’d Do It For You’ is a dose of dark-pop thrills, with Gia Lily adding rock overtones to her playbook. The song comes from the heart, with the single being constructed alongside Gia’s partner and producer Callum Rich.
Reminiscent of Nessa Barrett and Maggie Lindemann, and digital aspects recall those searing Billie Eilish bops.
The lyrics ask you to live in the moment, with ‘I’d Do It For You’ acting as a call to arms. Gia Lily comments…
”I wrote ‘I’d Do It For You’ on my bedroom floor with my partner and producer, Callum Rich, at midnight one night earlier this year. I wanted to write something fun, and not too serious. I’m someone who gets in bad habits of deeping pretty much every emotion I feel (which as a songwriter is great but day-to-day life, it can be exhausting) and I felt like I needed a song in my life where I wasn’t ‘deeping’ anything too much, rather just going with the flow.”
”That’s what this song represents to me. Acting in the moment with no-strings attached, and certainly not deeping life. I feel like all my upcoming music is landing under the vibe of ‘delusional lover-girl’, and I’m so ready for it.”
