Gia Ford has shared new song ‘Try Changing’.
The singer is a remarkable talent, with her early success speaking for themselves. A potent lyricist, her world-building techniques came to the fore in the video for previous single ‘Poolside’ – subsequently nominated for an AIM Independent Music Award.
Debut album ‘Transparent Things’ is out on September 13th, with new single ‘Try Changing’ acting as a marker of her rise.
Lyrically, it flips the generation gap – with ‘Try Changing’ asking Gia’s parents to find happiness.
There’s a universal message here, one of re-grounding, and attempting to find solace, and fulfilment in the everyday.
She comments…
‘Try Changing’ is a song about wanting your parents to be happy. They can teach you how to love the world and have a good life, but then go against their own preachings. More broadly, the song is about how you end up sharing wisdom with older people in your life, and how we attempt to re-ground each other as we go along regardless of generation.
Tune in now.
