gglum Confirms Debut Album ‘The Garden Dream’

Two new singles have been shared...

gglum will release her debut album ‘The Garden Dream’ on March 29th.

The London-born songwriter – real name Ella Smoker – has built her reputation on ethereal, striking, and emotionally incisive music, broadcast across two projects: 2021 release ‘once the edge has worn off’ and 2022 follow-up ‘Weak Teeth’.

Signed to Secretly Canadian, her debut album ‘The Garden Teeth’ lands this Spring. Out on March 29th, the contents veer from rugged expression to something dream-like and ineffable.

She comments…

“At the time of writing it, I was having so many nightmares, just straight-up graphic and disturbing stuff. I think it was my subconscious telling me I had shit I needed to deal with, a lot of the mistrust I’ve had since I was a teenager. It was weirdly good timing, because I’m at a point in my life now where I’m actually pretty happy, and am in a good place to look back.”

Karma Kid steps in on production, with gglum sharing two new songs. ‘Do You See Me Look Different?’ is – she explains – “about the confusion, chaos and deflation you feel during a difficult relationship…”

Tune in now.

‘Glue’ meanwhile is a song about “the desperation of wanting a broken relationship to be fixed again. Frantically scrambling to ‘glue’ things back together, but also feeling hopeless and numbing out.”
