The Oakley Jib-Vid tournament took place over the weekend, and was a massive success the OnBoard team scooping the grand prize of €2250 and three copies of the X-Box console.
The tournament took place in Mayrhofen, Austria and was a huge success. Snowboarders came from across Europe and beyond, attracted by the superb snow conditions and the uniqueness of the event. The competition gives each team 24 hours to film themselves performing tricks, and editing the footage down into a short film.
As well as an abundance of gnarly tricks the Oakley Jib-Vid event boasted a great line up of DJs and live music to satisfy the party instincts of the crowd of snowboarders. Temperatures were raised by an astonishing live show by Devil’s Gun, before the Clash DJ team melted the dancefloor with a typically eclectic set.
Competition winners OnBoard claimed the prize with a great film that showcased their snow skills as well as their sense of humour, with a storyline revolving around a mysterious robotic snowboarder. Combining huge technical ability with a zany cinematic sense, the OnBoard team were worthy winners.
Set in the Ziller river valley, the Oakley Jib-Vid competition is well worth looking out for next year.
