Avant electronica artist turned crooner George Demure is set to return with his new single “Sorrow” on June 30th, it has been announced.
Taken from his well received debut album “Boomtown Medallion”, the single is a cover of the Bowie classic. Produced by Demure himself, with a little assistance from Aidan Love, the track is a melancholic take on the glam classic. Remix duties on this occasion are provided by Dave Ball, one of the half of the great Soft Cell, who adds some sleaze to proceedings.
George Demure was a noted electronica producer before a move to London in 2002 brought out his inner crooner. A staple of the London live scene, Demure mixes Frank Sinatra with Aphex Twin. “Sorrow” will also contain the live favourite “Underwear” – so rip ’em off folks!
George Demure releases “Sorrow” on June 30th through August Day Recordings.
