Gallows Admit Album Lie

Slaughterhouse claims false

Returning hardcore heroes Gallows don’t look quite as hardcore now, after claims they had recorded the sounds of dying animals were revealed to be false.

Gallows erupted from Britain’s close knit punk scene with a series of seismic live dates. Capable of channelling all the energy of an H Bomb into a toilet venue, Gallows made each show seem important, with fans leaving inspired by what they had heard.

Debut album ‘Orchestra Of Wolves’ was released on a tiny independent label, but went on to spawn a Top 40 single. Sparking a massive bidding war, Gallows eventually decided to sign with Warner Brothers.

The band launched their assault on the United States recently, playing an astonishing set at a Clash party in Texas. Drawing blood, Gallows rattled through some of the tracks from their forthcoming album and were on typically breath-taking form.

Due to release their eagerly anticipated new album ‘Grey Britain’ soon, the band recently told NME that they recorded the sound of a pig being killed in a slaughterhouse for the album, reasoning that “it was going to die anyway”.

The band were heavily criticised, with animal rights group PETA slamming Gallows for their conduct. As a result the group have been forced to issue a new statement, which denies the sample is real.

“We would never harm an animal for the sake of our music,” the statement read. “The sample is taken from the internet and we even traced it to come from Spain where they still use inhumane forms of slaughter.”

“We do not want to upset our fans who we consider intelligent enough to realise we didn’t kill a pig or any other kind of animal to achieve the sounds on ‘Grey Britain’.”

Gallows did, however, experiment with technology on the album. A forthcoming short film written by singer Frank Carter details many of the record’s themes, while ‘Grey Britain’ itself expands the hardcore template as never before.

Look out for a Gallows interview on ClashMusic shortly!

Gallows are set to release their new album ‘Grey Britain’ on May 4th.
