Wrexham group call time on their career

Wrexham post-hardcore types Gallops have decided to split up.

Gallops never took themselves too seriously. Initially called Gallops! the band swiftly dropped the exclamation mark as it was “plain bloody stupid”.

Playing brutal, blood curdling shows around the country Gallops built a cult fan base the hard way. Sleeping on floors, demolishing toilet venues and generally having themselves a rad time the band finally delivered their debut album late last year.

'Yours Sincerely, Dr. Hardcore' was all schizoid riffs, hell for leather drumming and scorching throat vocals - not a million miles away from their live show, then. Sadly, it seems that Gallops are no more.

Releasing a one off single on Record Store Day, the Welsh group posted the following statement this morning:

Hello Earth,

We are sad to announce that as of now Gallops is dead. We've been to some really great places over the last 6 years and met some amazing people but Gallops as we know it has unfortunately run it's course.

We'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that has supported us along the way.

Watch this space for future projects from members of the band. Music will continue, Gallops will not.

Love you all,

Mark, Paul, Dave, Brad
