Fuzz Lightyear have shared new single ‘My Body’.
The Leeds four-piece have a seismic live sound, honed on recent supports alongside the likes of English Teacher, The Wytches, and Lambrini Girls.
Matching the intensity of IDLES, say, or even Gilla Band, there’s also a wit, a lyrical openness to Fuzz Lightyear’s music.
Freshly signed to Nice Swan Records – one of the best independent stables in the country – new single ‘My Body’ is phenomenal, a concrete-heavy slab of Brutalist rock.
You can hear aspects of Leeds’ music lineage – Henry Rollins once called the city home – but Fuzz Lightyear have a singular approach to music-making.
Speaking ahead of their first release, frontman Ben Parry explains…
“‘My Body’ asks to what extent is your mental self yours, and how much of yourself is everyone else. I wanted to look at the line between myself and the world around me – how much my environment affects my thoughts, and vice versa”.
Tune in now.
