Fryars has shared new single 'Quail's Egg No.1 in C Sharp Major’.
Ending a six year absence with the summer release of 'Virtual Reality Games', the alt-pop songsmith is on the comeback trail.
With that long gap now breached, the creativity is coming thick and fast, with a new album said to be on the horizon.
Constructed alongside Stereolab's Sean O’Hagan and frequent collaborator Rae Morris, the two guests play a key role on Fryars' new single.
Out now, 'Quail's Egg No.1 In C Sharp Major’ is an oddball pop hymn, one that moves in curious directions.
“Quail’s Egg… Quaalude - about getting lost in making something - time slowing down then flying by,” says Fryars. “Having eyes for nothing else. This inane two minute tune got made over seven years. Sitting with the same thing, the same idea but always finding new details and new ways of doing things. Never wanting to finish something. Not because it has to be perfect, but because you don’t want it to end.”
Rae Morris appears in the neat video, which you can check out below.
