Scots indie rockers Frightened Rabbit have revealed in a new interview with Clashmusic.com that they are huge fans of The Office – but are not so keen on American show ‘One Tree Hill’.
The Selkirk based band are set to play a forthcoming Clash Live event in Hoxton Bar & Kitchen, London on November 18th(Tickets). Frightened Rabbit have had a hell of a year, releasing second album ‘The Midnight Organ Fight’ to much acclaim and even touring the United States.
The band’s music has been featured on American teen-angst show ‘One Tree Hill’ but Frightened Rabbit admit they are not fans of the show. Singer Scott Hutchison explained that “It’s one of the more forthright and personal songs on the record, and for it to be used in a teen drama… I wasn’t against it at all because I thought like, “Fair enough, that’s fine,” but it was weird to have that running underneath a teenage crisis, whereas actually that was kind of a serious point in my life.”
The band are set to re-enter the studio in the New Year to commence work on their third LP. Hutchison told Clashmusic.com that unlike ‘The Midnight Organ Fight’ he doesn’t intend to make this album on the road.
“Last time it was done in America, and I really want this one to be done in Scotland, so that I can invite friends to come and play on it as well, so that the musical scope can go beyond what my own abilities dictate. I’d like more instrumentation and more people playing on the record.”
