Friends Outline British Shows

'I'm His Girl' out now

Brooklyn based newcomers Friends have confirmed a pair of British shows for 2012.

There’s a space available for a party band. CSS have lost their touch, while Gossip have been sucked into the mainstream. Hailing from Brooklyn, Friends have a good claim to soundtrack your weekend.

New single ‘I’m His Girl’ is a case in point. Buoyed by a springy bass line, Friends sound like the Tom Tom Club given a very modern makeover. It’s the classic tale of girl meets boy, but updated to focus on the joys of establishing an equal, respectful partnership.

Sure, there’s a Ze Records fetish going on but when Friends can deliver such sassy, buoyant pop music why bother to complain? Just go with the rush, and watch the 90s inspired video for ‘I’m His Girl’ below…
