Friendly Fires are streaming a new series of remixes courtesy of Carl Craig, Tiga and more.
Friendly Fires have always been open about their debt to electronic music. The band have a history of dropping dance classics into their set, and recently hooked up with some seminal producers as part of the RizLab project.
Released last year, under-rated second album ‘Pala’ was given the remix treatment by a disparate series of producers. Re-issued with some bonus material, the new edition of ‘Pala’ features re-workings from a wide array of beatsmiths.
As a try-before-you-buy style arrangements, Friendly Fires are now streaming all five tracks in a handy widget. Canadian producer Tiga also gets his hands on the band’s material, alongside an eclectic crew of guest artists.
Elsewhere, house guru Tensnake gets involved while Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Benoit & Sergio and Tim Green all weigh in with their own versions.
Techno legend Carl Craig re-works ‘Hurting’ for a remix which won’t be included on the new version of ‘Pala’. Set to gain release on one sided 12 inch vinyl, the remix will be issued digitally by XL and Craig’s own Planet E label.
