Friendly Fires have always admitted their debt to dance music.
Whether its include a (pre-Florence) 'Your Love' cover in their set, or even Jack Savidge joining the Deep Shit collective the band have been keen to get out on the dancefloor.
Meeting up with The Asphodells (Andrew Weatherall and Timothy J Fairplay) in an East London pub last year, the musicians decided to collaborate.
Working in Weatherall's studio, the aim – it says here – "was to produce music that came from a place outside of their respective usual musical styles".
The ensuing experimentation is set to form the fulcrum of a new double A-side single, featuring 'Before Your Eyes' and 'Velo' respectively.
