Frank Carter has admitted that it will be a strange experience to see someone take his place in Gallows.
Some bands thrive after losing their lead single. AC/DC mourned the tragic loss of Bon Scott, but after installing Brian Johnson as a replacement the band released ‘Back In Black’ – one of the best selling rock albums of all time.
So when Gallows found out that Frank Carter was set to quit all was not lost. The hardcore group are more than a backing band for the singer’s musings, and are preparing to unveil a replacement.
Frank Carter, meanwhile, is set to work on his new project Pure Love. Playing one last time with Gallows at London’s ULU on July 23rd, the show was a deeply strange and emotional experience for all concerned.
Speaking to Kerrang! the frontman admitted that leaving the band was a wrench. “I’m going to miss everything about Gallows. How could you not?”
Gallows are preparing to unveil their new singer, and Frank Carter explained that it would be a bizarre experience to watch someone take his place. “Someone else coming in is strange and in all honesty it’s going to take me a while to get used to it” he said.
“But the new guy is a great friend of mine and I know he loves the band so I think he is ready to step in and have some fun. I purposefully went out to play that last show with every ounce of sweat that I had, purely with the intention of setting the bar high for him.”
Now focussing on Pure Love, Frank Carter has been writing and recording material with the new group. The band are planning to release their debut album early next year, with Pure Love set to hit the road at the same time.
Continuing, Frank Carter affirmed his commitment to the new project saying he felt “more passionate about it than I have ever been about anything.”
Pure Love will release their debut album early next year.
