With their African-influenced percussion and light, airy feel, Francois & The Atlas Mountains' debut album on Domino 'E Volo Love' was a sparkling delight.
Awarded 8/10 in these digital pages, the group – partly French, with a debt to Bristol – took their wonderfully vibrant live show around the country.
Heading back into the studio, Francois & The Atlas Mountains have completed a darker, more mature fourth album. Lyrically, the group's new material is inspired by a traumatic, intense time in lead singer Francois' life.
Recorded in Entre-Deux-Mers near Bordeaux, sessions included Glasgow musician Gerard Black (also of Babe).
Gathered on new album 'Piano Ombre' – which translates as 'Calm Down Shadow' – the material will see the light of day later this year.
