Four Tet has posted new rarities album '0181' to his SoundCloud – listen to it below.
Four Tet likes to keep fans on their toes. Late last year the producer held an all-nighter in Brixton, inviting close friend Dan Snaith along for the party. The price? A mere £5.
Now the beatsmith has surprised fans with another recession busting retreat. '0181' is a new album of rarities which Four Tet posted to his SoundCloud account earlier today, containing a number of previously unreleased tracks.
Composed between 1997 and 2001, the material seems to bookend Four Tet's debut album 'Dialogue' – released on Trevor Jackson's now dormant Output Recordings imprint – and his 2001 full length 'Pause'. As such, the songs on show are heavy on jazz influenced breaks, near classical flourishes and left field electronics – there's even the odd dancefloor heavy moment, to keep you on your toes.
Available to download now, '0181' is set to gain a vinyl release via Kieren Hebden's own Text imprint.
