Forest Swords has shared two new songs, ‘Torch’ and ‘Pearl Of Hail’.
The enigmatic producer returned last year, sharing his bold album ‘Bolted’ to widespread acclaim. Taking his sound in new directions, Forest Sword also absorbed ideas drawn from his generative computer game soundscapes.
Built in a warehouse on Merseyside, the sessions were extremely productive. So much so, in fact, that Forest Swords has now gifted fans with two extra songs.
‘Torch’ is hugely atmospheric, the spartan atmospheric shot through with sonic detail; from the haunting vocals to the industrial percussive tones, it takes you to the cold, dark warehouse studio. ‘Pearl Of Hail’ meanwhile is a mood piece, an electronic vignette clocking in at under two minutes.
Forest Swords comments…
‘Torch’ / ‘Pearl Of Hail’ were siblings written as part of the ‘Bolted’ album sessions, recorded in a factory studio space in Liverpool last winter, that deserved an extra life. I’m trying to not have much music hanging around on hard drives gathering dust anymore, life’s too short. This pair are a bit lighter and more spring-like than most of ‘Bolted’, but still share the same DNA.
Tune in now.
