Forest Swords Posts New Material

On 'Dyymond Of Durham' blog

Reclusive producer Forest Swords has posted two new tracks on the ‘Dyymond Of Durham’ blog.

Little is known about Forest Swords. Based in the Wirral, the producer’s deep, sometimes oppressive music is matched to a reclusive stance which has seen the artist largely eschew interviews. However based on a new blog posting, Forest Swords probably has a deeply developed sense of irony…

Hosting the Dyymond Of Durham blog, Forest Swords has posted two new pieces of music. Announcing the project via Facebook, the producer wrote: “For you: 2 new tracks made earlier this year. A side project/ excursion/ journey? Made in a heavy flu haze/ reality television/ online / tinnitus mind warp meltdown. Sweat it out with me”.

Not part of the accepted Forest Swords canon, the producer introduced the tracks by writing: “THESE ARE NOT NEW FOREST SWORDS TRACKS » JUST 2 JAMS I FOUND ON MY COMPUTER » STANDALONE STUFF / DON’T GET IT TWISTED / DON’T MISUSE IT » MADE SUMMER 2011”.

‘Are You Seeing Her’ was apparently recorded in one take and the producer explained that he intended it to be a live score to an episode of reality TV show ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’.

‘Border Height’ is similarly improvised, with the producer apparently recording the piece in a Chicago hotel room.

Forest Swords recently re-issued early EP ‘Fjree Feather’ via No Pain In Pop. Donating the proceeds to the Red Cross, the producer commissioned a remix courtesy of Ghost Hunter – stream the results below…
