Forest Swords has released new single 'The Highest Flood' through Ninja Tune.
The Merseyside-based producer has been working on new material for some time, with acclaimed debut album 'Engravings' landing back in 2013.
Working with Ninja Tune, new Forest Swords single 'The Highest Flood' finds the producer retaining aspects of his debut while also navigating fresh ground.
Out now, the imposing bass atmospherics are built upon a highly complex rhythmic chassis that veers between distorted beats and all out noise.
The chopped up choral samples create an eerie atmosphere, one that seems reflect the world we have found ourselves in. Forest Swords:
"It's a challenge to navigate the world we're living in now and I've been thinking a lot about the ways we need to forge new paths in language, communication and our connection with the natural world – it's becoming more and more important to try and steer these in a positive direction. 'The Highest Flood' distils some of the frustration and hope that I've been working through over the past 18 months whilst making new material.”
Tune in now.
