Forest Swords has shared new piece ‘Munitions’.
The electronic composer will release new album ‘Bolted’ on October 20th, his first full length since 2017’s ‘Compassion’. He’s been far from idle, however – the Wirral producer has explored soundtrack work, including immersive gaming projects.
New piece ‘Munitions’ sets the tone for the album more broadly. Forest Swords retains an incredible world-building aspect to his work, imbuing his often industrial tones with visual aspects more redolent of photography.
‘Munitions’ – as the title indicates – sits on the heavier, more clinical side of his work, tapping into the alienation of mid-winter, and the sense of seclusion. Isolated yet not lonely, it’s marked by fading memories of Liverpool’s industrial heritage.

“”Munitions” was one of the first tracks I wrote for this album and sits at the beginning of the tracklisting. It was written during a few bleak late winter nights in my studio I set up in a cold warehouse in Liverpool and set the tone for much of the album writing that followed it.
