Ford & Lopatin Remix EP

'Channel Pressure' meets the dancefloor

Ford & Lopatin have confirmed plans to release a remix EP containing material from ‘Channel Pressure’.

Last week, Ford & Lopatin’s label Mexican Summer began streaming a new remix. Using a cut from the production team’s debut album ‘Channel Pressure’ it was much more up front, dancefloor oriented than the original.

Alan Braxe twisted the track in new directions, winning acclaim from fans not used to the original. Now it seems that the remix was part of a series, with Ford & Lopatin preparing a full EP.

‘Channel Pressure Remixes’ is due to be released on October 17th, with the cast of guest producers making for mouth watering reading. ‘Emergency Room’ gets remixed twice, with DFA’s Gavin Russom and bass maverick The Bug contributing two very different versions.

Elsewhere, Alan Braxe contributes two new remixes. ‘Too Much MIDI (Please Forgive)’ is taken in two separate directions – once as a French electro inspired floorfiller and once as a near ambient cloud of analogue synth noises.

One half of Optimo, JD Twitch gets his hands on ‘Joey Rogers’ stripping the track down to an ultra-sleazy proto-house bump. While fast rising production team Peaking Lights push ‘I Surrender’ into the realms of psychedelia.

Fancy a preview? Here’s that Alan Braxe remix again…
