Foo Fighters stepped in at a recent show and threw one of their own fans out of the concert.
Deep down, Dave Grohl remains a music fan. Foo Fighters have always remained humble, with a recent headline set at T In The Park finishing with the frontman thanking the audience for “sticking with this band for the past 16 years”.
An emotional moment, it followed an epic set which included more than a few fan favourites. Heading away from Balado, Foo Fighters prepared to perform in the historic London venue The Roundhouse.
Part of the iTunes Festival, the show last night (July 12th) was a relatively intimate affair when compared to their recent headline appearance at the Milton Keynes Bowl.
Tickets were available for free, with the venue completely packed out well before the band took to the stage. Rushing through an energetic set, a mosh pit formed at the front of the Roundhouse stage.
Foo Fighters carried on playing and moved into ‘Skin & Bones’, until Dave Grohl spotted one fan lashing out. Stopping the show, the enraged frontman demanded that the violence stop and the fan be thrown out of the venue.
“You don’t fucking fight at my show you asshole. Let me see him, who’s fighting right now? It’s that guy in the stripped shirt. Hey motherfucker look at me, get the fuck out of my show right now” he raged.
“I don’t put up with that bullshit – you people came here to have a good time and that guy can fuck off”.
The announcement caused a huge cheer from the crowd, with Foo Fighters immediately delving into their back catalogue.
The iTunes show was packed with admirers, with the crowd including Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page. Elsewhere, members of Metallica sneaked in to catch the band while Seasick Steve was also spotted taking notes.
The iTunes Festival continues until the end of the month.
