Fontaines D.C. Share New Single ‘Favourite’

With a nostalgic video...

Fontaines D.C. return with new single ‘Favourite’.

The band are entering a new chapter of their lives. Incoming album ‘ROMANCE’ is their first for XL Recordings, and it finds the Dublin group dialling up in every direction.

Out on August 23rd, lead single ‘Starburster’ made a colossal impression on its release, blending enthralling new elements into their visceral, post-punk clatter.

The creative run continues on excellent new single ‘Favourite’. There’s a touch of 90s colouring to the production, displaying a newfound penchant for melody.

If there’s a slight tinge of nostalgia to the song itself – “Did you know I could claim the dreamer from the dream?” – then this comes to the fore on the video, with its raw VHS quality tapping into the emotion in Grian Chatten’s voice.

Blending some home video footage of their childhood, there’s also a pleasing football theme – just in time for the Euros.

Tune in now.

Fontaines D.C. hit the road this Autumn, including two nights at London’s Alexandra Palace on November 22nd and 23rd.
