FOE Prepares Debut Album

‘Bad Dream Hotline’ due on January 16th

London songwriter FOE is set to release her debut album ‘Bad Dream Hotline’ on January 16th.

With her scuzzy, grunge derived riffs and colourful wigs, FOE has been one of the more eye catching artists to come our way recently. Real name Hannah Clark, the songwriter seems – from our vantage point, at least – to be a frenetic source of creation.

Continually writing and recording new material, FOE is also responsible for intricate, hand drawn fanzines which illuminate the characters from her songs.

At heart a pop artist, FOE’s catchy output is filtered through a prism of early 90s influences. Capturing the energy of her live shows, the singer’s releases to date have an edgy, unfinished quality that bodes well for her debut album.

Due for release on January 16th, ‘Bad Dream Hotline’ ends one chapter in the singer’s career. Bringing together her early material, FOE takes inspiration from adolescence, from school and from her first, probing attempts to push her way into the real world.

Using a broad musical palette, ‘Bad Dream Hotline’ seems to be imbued with an atmosphere which could at times become quite unsettling. ‘A Handsome Stranger Called Death’ addresses the morbid fear of death that’s haunted her since she was a child while ‘Black Lodge’ is named after the fictional setting featured in Lynch’s infamous TV series Twin Peaks.

Produced by Entrepreneurs, mixed by Dan Grech and Mike Crossey, ‘Bad Dream Hotline’ is set to be released on Vertigo records on January 16th.

Previewing the new material, FOE has arranged two London shows. The singer will perform at the Old Blue Last on November 27th, before hitting the Electricity Showrooms on December 22nd.

FOE is set to play the following shows:

November
27 London Old Blue Last

December
22 London Electricity Showrooms
