Florist Share New Single ‘Moon, Sea, Devil’

"We must dare to take care of each other and oppose all that does not care for life on earth.”

New York quartet Florist have shared a new single, ‘Moon, Sea, Devil’, lifted from forthcoming album, ‘Jellywish’, out April 4th via Double Double Whammy.

Florist – comprising Emily Sprague, Rick Spataro, Jonnie Baker, and Felix Walworth – paint elegiac brushstrokes on ‘Moon, Sea, Devil’ – a downbeat folk balm for trying times that speaks to connections forged on and beyond this earthly plane. The release follows previous singles, ‘Gloom Designs, ‘Have Heaven’ and ‘This Was A Gift’.

“‘Moon, Sea, Devil’ is about our multidimensional consciousness inside of earth bodies. In the years since our self-titled record, I started thinking more and more about who we (humans) are as a collective entity, influencing each other and the world around us with many small actions, emotions, and reactions,” Sprague explains.

“This song believes in the unseen worlds beside ours and suggests using that perspective to reach through the veils, creating a powerful tool for channeling greater empathy, love, and connection with others here in our humbling reality. To tap into our power as a species, create change for actual good, and make life better and more equal for all people, we must dare to take care of each other and oppose all that does not care for life on earth.”

On the whimsical ‘Jellywish’,  Florist invite listeners to imagine a world where magic, surrealism, and the supernatural are our companions in day-to-day life. Of the opaque album experience which asks existential questions without offering up easy solutions, Sprague says: “It’s a gentle delivery of something that is really chaotic, confusing, and multifaceted… It has this technicolor that’s inspired by our world and also fantasy elements that we can use to escape our world.”

Florist will embark on a European tour in support of their new album. Tickets are available via Double Double Whammy
