Tampa three-piece Infinite Eights have shared new single ‘Insecure’.
Out now, it follows a frantic period for the band, who have shared bills alongside The 1975, Sir Sly, and The Naked And Famous.
Digging deep, ‘Insecure’ finds the band at their most open, supplying a brand-new ready-made anthem for fans. Adding dashes of pop to their indie rock sound, Infinite Eights hit upon a golden mixture, while lyrically they’re dealing with themes of self-criticism, and attempting to find balance in life.
Another sign of their invigorating rise, ‘Insecure’ is already a key part of their live sets, both locally and nationally. Infinite Eights comment…
“‘Insecure’ describes the terrible feelings of self-consciousness that arise when you’re completely infatuated with someone who is only half-interested in you.”
“True to its name, the lyrics start with subtle signs of insecurity (e.g., ‘Maybe just give it time? Maybe I came on strong? Maybe it felt contrived?’) before reaching a fever-pitch towards the end of the track (e.g., ‘Maybe it’s the shirt I wore? The colour of my hair? Maybe it’s just for the best, but f*** it – I still care.’).”
