Florence & The Machine are on course to claim number one with their new album ‘Ceremonials’.
Florence & The Machine have always had an epic side. Even at her early shows, Florence Welch seemed determined to let her voice soar up into the rafters and far beyond the venue’s limitations.
Returning with ‘Ceremonials’ the group sound bigger, more vast than ever before. Gospel tinged, the album finds Florence & The Machine equipped to take on stadiums, with their sound pushed to epic proportions.

Released on Monday (October 31st) the album is well on course to claim number one on the charts. According to the Official Chart Company, Florence & The Machine sold more than 50,000 copies in its first two days with weekend sales yet to come into play.
‘Ceremonials’ is on course to claim pole position, knocking Coldplay to second place. ‘Mylo Xyloto’ is still selling strongly, but it seems that Chris Martin & Co. will have to relinquish their hold on top spot.
Elsewhere, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds fall to number four while Michael Buble’s festive collection sits at number five. The re-issue of U2’s ‘Achtung Baby’ enters the charts at number 19, while Beach Boys’ ‘Smile’ just misses out on the Top Ten at number 15.
A band who have always craved mainstream attention, Manic Street Preachers recently gathered 20 years of hit singles onto a new compilation. ‘National Treasures’ marks an unusual journey, with fans flocking to claim the album – sending it back into the charts in the process.
Hitting number seven, Manic Street Preachers will be celebrating ahead of a one off London show later this year. Set to play ‘National Treasures’ in its entirety, the Welsh band will hit the O2 Arena on December 17th.
