Singer anxious about future

Brit award winning newcomers Florence And The Machine have revealed doubts about their future.

Formed by flame haired shouter Florence Welch, Florence And The Machine have enjoyed a near effortless rise to the top. Given a Brit Award before even releasing their debut album, the group have matched critical acclaim to chart success.

Florence And The Machine’s debut album became one of the year’s top sellers, kept off the pole position only by the tragic death of Michael Jackson re-igniting the iconic performer’s back catalogue.

Nominated for the Mercury Music Prize, Florence Welch nonetheless has doubts about her career. The singer recently spoke of a ‘chaos robot’ which overtakes her just when things are looking rosy.

Now Florence Welch has claimed that she is anxious over her future career. Speaking to Scottish magazine The List the singer claimed that “I can’t ever seem to shake the feeling that when things are really good it essentially means that things are going to go really bad”.

“When I feel calm and settled, there is always an underlying feeling of impending doom. I don’t think that it’s healthy.”

“I always seem to feel that everything is about to cave in on me,” she explained. “I think that maybe music is my protection from that and in some senses it’s an outlet to turn it into something euphoric: embracing the eventual decline.”

Florence And The Machine are currently touring the UK, with their version of the house classic ‘You’ve Got The Love’ in the upper reaches of the chart.
