FLETCHER has shared her new single ‘Sting’.
Queer pop force of nature FLETCHER thrives on honesty. The songwriter’s lyricism presents her soul in a naked setting, pouring her feelings out on record.
Incoming album ‘Girl Of My Dreams’ is out on September 16th, and it presents her vision in widescreen. An unfiltered vision of her life, the record contains more than a few home truths – such as new single ‘Sting’.
Out now, it’s a direct, visceral offering, with ‘Sting’ framed by a digi-pop template. The lyrics bare all – FLETCHER even talks about making sex tapes – but there’s a continual sense of humanity, with the singer longing for connection and understanding.
“So much of my past work has been focused on other people and on my relationships: all the people who have broken my heart, all the hearts that I’ve broken,” she says. “For my debut album it felt right to do a deeper dive into self-exploration, and all the different facets that make up who I am.”
“I wanted it to be the most honest, raw, and complete representation of the complex and sensitive-ass Pisces that I’ve always been. It took a long time and a lot of reflection to create a body of work like that, but it’s important to me that my music comes directly from lived experience.”
Tune in now.
