Wolverhampton voice Fitzroy Holt has shared the full video for his song ‘Medicine’.
It’s been a huge summer for the songwriter, who hit The Great Escape in Brighton before playing a packed out show at the Isle of Wight Festival. BBC Introducing are fans, while Fitzroy Holt has also supporting Dylan John Thomas and Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard.
Melding together indie, psych, and a whole lot more, his new melter ‘Medicine’ is out now. With its counter culture leanings and rebellious stance it’s the work of a true original, someone who is busy walking his own path.
Due to hit London for a debut headline show at St Pancras Church on October 28th, Fitzroy handed the full video for ‘Medicine’ to Clash – an eye-catching, colour-laced feast of hallucinogenic energy, it melds together his live prowess with some arresting scenes.
Fitzroy Holt explains…
“The ‘Medicine’ video was a tricky one to shoot, for more reasons than one. Trying to match and create visuals which married the emotions and themes of the song without being overt and cheesy was no easy feat. I think we shot at least 5x more footage than we actually used in the video.”
“We then decided to splice footage from our Isle of Wight performance which into the video, if you were there you’ll know was full of passion and energy added the raw edge the video needed.”
“It was beautifully put together and edited by our own George Morris and Patsy Wesson, whom ironically served as the muse for the song’s lyrics. The video turned out like the song I guess a dark ode to love, a real labour of love also.”
