New York electroclash innovators Fischerspooner have finally finished their long awaited new album ‘Between Worlds’.
Emerging from the vastly hyped electroclash scene, Fischerspooner burst forth in an explosion of glitter. Seemingly keen to use money as confetti, the band signed to Ministry Of Sound for a reported £1 million.
Amid massive media speculation the group’s shows grew ever more extravagant with one New York gig using a massive arts grant to fund its myriad of dancers and lights. Of course, it all ended in tears as their debut album completely flopped and plunged Ministry into severe money problems.
Fischerspooner retreated to the studio to lick their wounds, before eventually releasing their second album ‘Odyssey’ four years after their debut. Now, four years on it is time for the band to return.
Changing from electroclash into something that resembles early 80s synth pop, forthcoming album ‘Between Worlds’ is due for release on May 5th. Singer Casey Spooner describes the album as “a very American story about ambition, experimentation, danger and the frontier”.
Fischerspooner have made their comeback single ‘Supply And Demand’ available as a free download.
The band will celebrate the album’s release with three very special shows at the Performing Garage in New York. Limited to an audience of only 60, tickets are sure to be scarce.
