First Hate’s ‘Commercial’ Offers Immersive Alt-Pop

Second album 'Cotton Candy' lands this May...

Danish alt-pop duo First Hate have shared exquisite new single 'Commercial'.

Out now, the track leads into their second album, with 'Cotton Candy' due for release on May 27th.

Vivid and immersive alt-pop, the electronic textures are matched to a poetic, wide-open creative sensibility.

'Commercial' epitomises their dappled sonics, with First Hate using their alt-pop prowess as a means to pick apart Late Capitalism.

The video finds the duo taking to the streets of Copenhagen, joyriding alongside friends.

First Hate's Joakim comments…

"Big white smiles and perfect photoshopped bodies with over-dimensioned features on everything from big billboards on the highway to our Instagram feed. This song is about the big wheels of capitalism turning around constantly and indulging in it."

Band mate Anton adds that the song encapsulates: "Everything the capitalist heart desires…"

Tune in now.
