Field Music have confirmed plans to release a covers compilation named ‘Field Music Play’.
Distinctive, idiosyncratic talents in their own right, Field Music have always had a penchant for the odd cover of two. Now the band have confirmed plans for a new compilation, containing a tempting tracklisting.
Looking over some of their favourite tracks, Field Music have delivered a series of overhauls. Opening with a Syd Barrett solo cut, ‘Field Music Play’ also contains material originally written by Roxy Music, Robert Wyatt and more.
Intriguingly, the band also cover The Beatles’ ‘Don’t Pass Me By’ – an odd, but tempting part of the Fab Four’s back catalogue.
