North East songwriter Faye Fantarrow has shared her beautiful new single ‘AWOL’.
The young artist is dealing with a heartbreaking revelation, following news that she has been diagnosed with an extremely rare and potentially fatal Glioma brain tumour. Support flooded in from across the music spectrum, with Faye vowing to focus on her songwriting, and use it to find deeper expression.
Renowned producer and Eurhythmics’ co-founder Dave Stewart was drawn to her work, signing Faye to his Bay Street Records in 2021. New single ‘AWOL’ comes from this partnership, its release coinciding with World Cancer Day (February 4th).
A full EP is incoming, but this gentle but overpowering song illustrates the talents at her disposal. Labelled a “rare jewel” by the producer, the simple, spartan setting of ‘AWOL’ shows how strong Faye’s talents truly are.
Faye Fantarrow says…
“Life very rarely goes to plan but the plan was always to write, sing and perform and I’ve been lucky to be able to do that. ‘AWOL’ is the title track from my forthcoming EP which I am so proud of and the fantastic opportunity I was given to work and record with Dave Stewart will be forever special to me.”
Tune in now.
