Fat Freddy's Drop are set to release new album 'Blackbird' on June 24th.
An explosive mixture of hip hop, soul and dub reggae, Fat Freddy's Drop have become a global phenomenon. Able to tour far from their native Australia, the band have quietly clocked up some 800,000 album sales across their career.
Now they're back. The band have sealed off sessions on new album 'Blackbird' – recorded in their own Bays studio complex – and have set their sights on the UK.
Fitchie reflected on those sessions recently. "What you hear on the album is the sound of Bays; the room itself, the vibe of the place and the performance we can get out of the band in there..."
Set to be released on June 24th, 'Blackbird' will be accompanied by a show at the Village Underground. Tickets were made available by ballot, with thousands of fans attempting to grab one of the 500 passes.
