A fan has broken into the home of Kate Bush in an attempt to propose to the English artist.
Kate Bush inspires a very strange form of dedication. With the singer often leaving gaps of several years between studio projects, fans have developed a type of patience which most ordinary artists don’t enjoy.
However it seems that over the festive period one fan took things much too far. American Frank Tufaro was arrested at the singer’s home on Boxing Day, having apparently planned to propose to the singer.
Tufaro flew from New York to London, before spending more than £240 on a taxi to take him to Devon. Using directions gained from Google maps, the fan then broke into the home of Kate Bush in order to propose.
Carrying a £3000 engagement ring with him, Frank Tufaro then apparently went off the idea. The Daily Mail reports (via Huffington Post UK) that the fan got lost in the singer’s mansion and began to panic.
“I feel so connected to her. I feel so much love for her and I want to protect her” explained the fan.
“I was inside for about eight minutes before I realised I had to leave. I just walked around and looked at everything. It wasn’t what I expected” he continued. “I didn’t have a clue where I was and was convinced I was going to die there, it was so bitter and cold.”
A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesman said: “We can confirm that on December 26 a 32-year-old man was arrested near Kingsbridge in Devon after reports of damage to a property. He was later deported by the UK Border Agency.”
Kate Bush has not commented on the incident.
