Ezra Collective will release new album ‘Where I’m Meant To Be’ on November 14th.
The London-based outer-national jazz outfit are one of the best live acts in the country, and their debut album ‘You Can’t Steal My Joy’ joined the dots between grime, R&B, afrobeat, and the post-bop lineage.
Signed to Partisan Records, new album ‘Where I’m Meant To Be’ is incoming. Recently signalling their return, the record features contributions from Sampha The Great, Kojey Radical, Emeli Sandé and Nao.
Sampa The Great appears on fiery new single ‘Life Goes On’, an ode to survival marked by the pan-diasporic experience.
“London meets Lusaka. Moments of joy, moments of struggle, but united in a spirit that we must carry on. Life must go on,” state Ezra Collective, describing the inspiration behind the song. “We write our music with a consistent will to push the boundaries of what we can mix jazz with. This incorporates the energies of southern African vibes, mixed with our own style of London jazz. And there’s no better person to voice this beauty than the queen, Sampa the Great.”
Nathan Miller directs the video, which takes to the streets of London and Lusaka and emphasises Ezra Collective’s global swagger.
Tune in now.
