Experience the Electric Cabaret

Win a VIP trip via Smirnoff and Clash

Hitting the North West like a tasty and colourful cake-in-the-face, the Smirnoff Electric Cabaret crash-lands at the Manchester Academy on November 27th.

The SEC has garnered an enviable reputation for pushing the boundaries of nightlife since its 2006 debut, adding cabaret, fancy dress and noteworthy cocktails to an impressively diverse music policy. Heading up the live bill at the latest event is 2008’s foremost pop/dance crossover act Sam Sparro, ably supported by Belgian Soulwax protégés Das Pop and East London dance duo Digital Gun, while the trademark SEC collaboration features two affiliates of New York’s ever-edgy DFA Records: the Juan Maclean and LCD Soundsystem’s Pat Mahoney.

Set to be the highlight on the cabaret side, meanwhile, is the Human Slinky, who really needs no further introduction. Quite an evening in store then, and for one pair of Clash readers it should be doubly memorable, as in collaboration with Smirnoff we’re giving away a VIP package including:

* Travel to Manchester
* A night at the Malmaison Hotel
* A Smirnoff cocktail kit
* A queue-jump for the event itself
