Belgium’s rich electronic lineage manifests itself in many ways.
Based in Brussels, Flemish trio VUURWERK have one eye on the past, and the other on the future. In their productions, the group are clearly aware of industrial’s roots, of the influence the Ghent scene played on techno – but alongside this there’s a willingness to experiment, to shift the goalposts.
Signing to London based independent Lo Recordings, VUURWERK will release new EP ‘Grip’ in March. A collaboration with Climb X, sample cut ‘Wakening’ is due to be given away from the band’s SoundCloud shortly.
Ahead of this, Clash is able to bring you the visuals for ‘Wakening’. An intense work, the imposing electronics recall Atoms For Peace or even James Holden, while Climb X adding a tangible sense of emotion.
