Everything But The Girl return with new single ‘Caution To The Wind’.
The group are back, with long-awaited new album ‘Fuse’ set to land on April 21st. Comeback single ‘Nothing Left To Lose’ was beautiful, adapting their electronic soul template for a 2k23 perspective while respecting the duo’s original run.
New single ‘Caution To The Wind’ is out now, adding another chapter to their ongoing story. Everything But The Girl meld together club tropes with deft strains of melancholia, and Tracey Thorn’s voice remains utterly peerless, majestic and crystal clear.
Tracey Thorn says: “Lyrically, ‘Caution To The Wind’ is a simple song about arrival and seizing the moment, so with the music we tried to capture the feeling of a perpetual point in time.”
“I let the words quickly collapse and loop inside the production,” continues Ben Watt. “The drums emerge and repeat, and everything then starts to unfold in cycles of anticipation and release. I guess it’s just classic nightclub tension and euphoria.”
