Etta Marcus Celebrates Those Close To Her With ‘Girls That Play’

Her new mini-album is incoming...

Etta Marcus has shared enchanting new single ‘Girls That Play’.

The alt-pop voyager speaks from the heart, and Etta’s latest single is a toast to those closest to her. An ode to female companionship, it’s about friendship, about the inter-supporting networks that criss-cross her life.

Out now, ‘Girls That Play’ made a huge splash on Radio 1 last night – January 9th – immediately igniting conversation on social media. The soothing sonics mask an impish lyric, with Etta Marcus singing:

“I bet you wanna be us, I bet you wanna have fun / I want you part of the club, come on, come on, come on…”

A self-described “ode to girls” it emerged from a period of “frustration” in Etta’s life. She comments…

“‘Girls That Play’ is an ode to the women that surround me and the affection I have towards those precious relationships. We are a euphony of shared experiences and I like to think of us as one big club. I’m not wanting to focus on the aches that we harbour but instead the comfort we bring each other and the fun we have together.”

Jesse May Fisher directs the playful video – tune in now.

Etta Marcus will release her first mini album ‘The Death of Summer & Other Promises’ on January 26th.
