Ethel Cain will bring her acclaimed debut album ‘Preacher’s Daughter’ to vinyl in the New Year.
The album was released back in May 2022, and marked the emergence of a bold voice in American songwriting. Deft, and deeply autobiographical, the record traced Ethel Cain’s journey, working in an imaginative, highly singular fashion.
Since then, ‘Preacher’s Daughter’ has resonated with millions across the globe. Remarkably, though, the album has never been available on vinyl – a situation she is about to remedy.
On January 17th the first vinyl pressing of ‘Preacher’s Daughter’ will be released – it’ll no doubt be an instant collector’s item.
It’s a busy period for Ethel Cain, whose new project ‘Perverts’ lands on January 8th. A stand-alone release, it’s led by recent single ‘Punish’.
In an essay penned around the release of ‘Preacher’s Daughter’, Ethel Cain mused on the meaning of place for CLASH. She wrote…
Any time I find myself having a conversation about what it means to be happy or healthy – which is more and more often these days as that increasingly becomes one of the things I crave most – I find myself going back to one particular statement. “You know deep down what you need to be happy, and it’s up to you to create it around you.” I first said it to a stranger, drunk at a party, but I never forgot it. Nothing incredibly revolutionary, but it’s a conclusion I’ve stuck by all this time. The world is a very scary place, with no regard for your well-being, so I’ve taken it upon myself to create my own little environment that brings me peace, at least when I’m home.
