Ethan Johns is set to release his new solo album 'If Not Now When?' in February.
A highly acclaimed producer, Ethan Johns has helped steer highly successful releases from Kings of Leon, Ryan Adams and countless others. Now the studio figure is set to step into the limelight, after confirming plans for a solo album. 'If Not Now When?' will be released in February, housed by the producer's own Three Crows Records label.
Seemingly written in between his high profile projects, Ethan Johns was able to call on the assistance of several famous guests. Ryan Adams, Laura Marling and Danny Thompson all appear on the record, while production duties were shared. "I have to offer very deep appreciation to both Dominic Monks and Jeremy Stacey who certainly took over principal duties on that front" he said recently, "but otherwise it was down to whoever was in the room at the time!" Out in February, you can download free track 'Whip Poor Will' on Ethan Johns' website. Alternatively, you can stream it below.

Alongside this, Ethan Johns is preparing a tour of record shops around the country. “I'm doing this tour primarily because visiting local record stores is still one of my favourite things to do. You just don't know what you’re going to find, whether it be an elusive album you've been searching for, for years, or an amazing new local band the shop assistant is playing when you walk through the door. Nothing beats it!" he explained.
