Esme Emerson Share Impressive Single ‘Show You (Truck Song)’

The sibling duo's rise continues...

Esme Emerson return with new single ‘Show You (Truck Song)’.

Out now, the single continues the duo’s rise, with the British-Chinese sibling pairing continuing to impress. Doing things the old fashioned way, Esme Emerson are building their fanbase single by single, show by show – indeed you can catch them supporting Jasmine Jethwa and The Japanese House this spring.

But it’s more than persistence. There’s an aching individuality to Esme Emerson’s work, blending pop tropes with something almost other-worldly. Incoming EP ‘Big Leap, No Faith, Small Chancer‘ lands on June 28th via Communion Records, with the duo describing the material as channelling “the shame and guilt brought about by rumination and human mistakes…”

New single ‘Show You (Truck Song)’ is part of this arc, the dulcet tones managing to state their emotional message in an understated, empathetic fashion. Curled melodies and tightly defined structures, the song displays Esme Emerson’s fondness for classic musicality, while also displaying their vital individuality.

“‘Show You’ is not only a ‘Truck Song’, but a love song,” tells Esme. “It’s about wanting to prove to someone that you are enough, and perhaps also trying to convince yourself of the same thing.”

“It’s a song about how easily insecurities manifest when your feelings are taken for granted, and how a lack of self-worth grants permission to be overlooked. It’s about a desperation to be loved, wanting to show that in good time you swear you’ll make it worth their while and promise effort as a testimony to your words.”

Tune in now.
