Esben And The Witch – Album Details

'Violet Cries' due in January

Esben And The Witch have confirmed details of their debut album ‘Violet Cries’.

Lurking out of the shadows, Esben And The Witch have never truly escaped the darkness. The band’s material is imbued with a rare intensity, as if there was a tiny knot at the centre of their music which no one can quite untie.

Playing a series of acclaimed shows, the band’s studio material has been frustratingly thin on the ground. In an era when one mp3 can spark a genre, Esben And The Witch have retained a sense of mystery.

The group recently released the single ‘Marching Song’ to complete an impressive year. Gaining international acclaim, Esben And The Witch recently celebrated the completion of their debut album.

‘Violet Cries’ is due to be released on January 31st, when the Winter is still clogging the streets. An appropriately downbeat release, Esben And The Witch’s material nonetheless has a warm, redemptive edge.

Signed to Matador, Esben And The Witch decided to produce themselves with Daniel Copeman taking control. Currently in the United States, the band have released a new mp3 to tease British fans.

‘Warpath’ is a stunning introduction to the group, all whispered threats and taut guitar lines. Click HERE to grab the mp3!

Esben And The Witch are due to return to the UK next month. The trio have confirmed a series of tour dates, opening with a show in London’s Electrowerkz. Dates in Manchester, Glasgow and more follow before finishing in Leeds on November 14th.
