Avant pop wunderkind es.cher has shared his powerful new release ‘Lie2.Me’.
Out now, the release follows a recent sold out London underplay, in which the much-tipped poly-genre maverick was joined by Nate Brazier and dialE to perform alongside him.
New four-track release ‘Lie2.Me’ is laced with breakbeat energy, the shattered remnants of pop’s possible futures finessed into something unified, and potent. The conceptual origin for the release lies in a 9000 word essay composed for university, with es.cher choosing to hone in on the stages of grief.
Pouring his creativity into the space caused by loss, it follows his habit of building guitar loops on TikTok, and then offering them to fans as free samples. This open-ended form of creative communication seems to have propelled his own work, moving between skittering, anxiety-driven electronics and something more lush, and sombre.
