Erol Alkan has shared a fantastic TRASH archive mix.
Remarkably, it’s 18 years since the seminal London club night closed its doors for the final time, but its impact can still be felt. Helping to empower a generation of clubbers in the metropolis and beyond, it shattered boundaries between genres, eschewing a magnificent sense of illicit eclecticism.
Erol Alkan has obviously gone on to achieve other sonic heights, but the appeal of TRASH still lingers – both for those lucky enough to permeate the dancefloor, and younger club kids who have heard tales of its debauchery.

Working with Apple Music, Erol Alkan has just shared a new TRASH archive mix, recorded direct off the decks.
Opening – naturally! – with Peaches, it’s a helter-skelter ride that comes to sum up the impish inventiveness of the night itself.
Erol Alkan writes…
It is exactly 18 years since TRASH closed its doors forever.
To mark this anniversary, the first of a series of Dj sets recorded live from the club is now available to stream on Apple Music. Part 1 of Erol Alkan’s set from Monday 21st October 2002 has been lovingly remastered and is presented here in lossless audio.
