US indie rock risers Enumclaw return with new single ‘Cowboy Bepop’.
The band’s stated aim is to become as big as Oasis – bold talk, and bold songs are required. They haven’t let us down to date however, with Enumclaw supplying dynamic, visceral, electrifying songwriting.
New single ‘Cowboy Bepop’ follows suit, the grinding guitar riffs aligned to a superb vocal from Aramis Johnson. Nabbing its name from an anime classic, ‘Cowboy Bepop’ is an absolute scorcher, a freshly hewn anthem that refuses to back down.
Aramis Johnson explains…
“Something I’ve been trying to figure out these past two years is the idea of change and what that can look like and mean. At its core, change is what this song is about.. If you could choose, what would you change? There’s this line in the movie Mid 90’s and it’s like ‘at the end of the day you wouldn’t trade your shit for anyone else’. That’s what this song is about. At the end of the day the grass is never greener on the other side.”
John Peterson directs the video, which feels shot through with the natural confidence that makes Enumclaw’s music such a vital experience.
