Danish artist ENIS has shared his ‘E01 demo collection’ in full.
The songwriter moves in an alt-R&B lane, but brings an emphatic sense of individuality to that sound. Spartan electronics matched to some lush orchestral endeavours, each song is interwoven around his own experiences.
Terrifically honest, the Copenhagen-based vocalist speaks from the heart. Recent singles like ‘Fadeaway’, ‘If I want to’ and ‘Drunk for dinner’ lit a trail, and his new ‘E01 demo collection’ is now online.
A project to immerse yourself inside, ENIS launches the EP with new single ‘Lavender garden’. A ballad framed by poignancy, it was produced by Sekko and has a frosted, zero gravity feel.
He says: “I remember being so hurt that I made my subconsciousness think I was unworthy. Consequently, I pushed the ones away that tried to nurture me and give love. As my world was falling apart and I lost my ground, home and family; lavender garden was a dreamy place I imagined when I closed my eyes. It helped me to rediscover hope and believe in the beauty this world has to offer.”
“Metaphorically, I see it as a bridge built to bring me to my next destination: a freer me. It’s about when you’re promised the sky and left with rain, but use the rain to water your garden.”
A full video for ‘Lavender garden’ is online now – co-directed by ENIS himself and Italian director-photographer Leonardo Casalini.
